Call for Playwrights - WRITE-A-THON

APN Write-A-Thon is like a 24 hour playwriting contest meets a bike-a-thon. Playwrights sign up to write for 24 straight hours (in a room with other playwrights in Edmonton or Calgary) and collect donations through the RaiseAthon.ca website from October 1 to November 15th.

ASA Call for Submissions - Emerging Artists Unleashed

The ASA is excited to announce its first student exhibition call for submissions for 2015 titled Emerging Artists Unleashed. In support of emerging artists in Alberta, the ASA is proud to provide resources, and an artistic platform, to help artists pursuing a career in the arts gain exhibition experience. The Society invites all full-time students enrolled in a Fine Arts program at a post-secondary institution within Alberta to submit artwork to this exhibition. This show is open-themed and will be exhibited during Walterdale’s presentation of Jeffrey, by Paul Rudnick, directed by Kyle Thulien.

Walterdale Theatre is one of the longest running theatre companies in Western Canada and is embarking on its 55th season of community-driven theatre. Walterdale is located in the heart of Old Strathcona and housed in an historic 1910 firehall. Since 1958 Walterdale has produced a variety of performances including dramas, musicals, comedies, one act festivals, play readings and much more. With the exception of a paid Administrator, Walterdale Theatre is run exclusively by volunteer members. Walterdale Theatre is a vital part of Edmonton Theatre, culture and heritage and has received many awards for its contribution to the community.
