Nose Hill – Brisebois Parking Lot on John Laurie Blvd NW (Many Owls)
Difficulty: Easy
A hike to find and draw the first blooms of spring, no previous art experience necessary!
The furry prairie crocus (Pulsatilla nuttalliana) is a beloved sign of spring in Alberta. Join us on Nose Hill to hunt – and draw – the earliest crocuses. We’ll bring our sketchbooks and check the fescue and poke around the south facing slopes. We’ll talk botany and history and jot sketches. Hikers who don’t draw are welcome to take notes and photos. Let’s search for spring together!
Why you should join us:
- Hike & draw on Nose Hill with a professional artist/author/sketchbooker.
- Learn about nature sketching/botany/history.
- Connect with the outdoors and practice your drawing.
