Help CBC Celebrate Alberta Arts Days! Visit the Alberta Cultureville Contest!
If you live in the most culturally cool community in the province, or you're the type of person your friends call an arts' aficionado, then we want to hear from you.
Enter the CBC Alberta Cultureville Contest and you could win some great prizes, including a live remote broadcast from CBC Radio One's alberta@noon with host Donna McElligott.
The winning community will win a live remote broadcast to kick off Alberta Arts Days on September 17. See how radio is made, and get your community noticed. There will be great hands-on experiences for individuals too, from our friends at Alberta Arts Days, the North and South Jubilee Auditorium, the Royal Alberta Museum, the Royal Tyrrell Museum and more.
The contest is open to all – and entering is easy.

Red Deer College is accepting instructional applications for Series Summer School of the Arts 2011.
SERIES is a residential adult arts program at Red Deer College, located in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, that offers weeklong courses in a variety of mediums, including painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, glassblowing, flameworking, jewellery, metalsmithing, carving, book arts, ceramics, photography, bronze-casting, animation, and more.
Courses are usually 5 days in length and run Monday to Friday from 9AM - 4PM, with a 1 hour break (for a total of 30 instructional hours). In addition to classes we have a number of social events planned throughout the week, including a welcome BBQ, a dinner and instructor slideshow, and a student exhibition that showcases the work of our participants throughout the week.
The dates for our 2011 program are July 4 – 29, with the exception of the Hot Glass portion which will run from June 6 – August 12.

Call for submissions – Sideshow Gallery's annual group show: Menagerie
Sideshow Gallery is seeking submissions for our annual group show. Menagerie will be a playful collection of artwork exhibited in clusters according to type - as a zoo might be laid out.
Guidelines:
-artwork to be 14 x 14” or smaller
-all media to be considered provided it is wall friendly
Submission to Include:
-CV
-5 – 10 images (no original artwork)
-Image List
-Artist Statement or Proposal
