New Views - The inaugural AFA art house exhibition

It all began with a player card…

In 1972 a single, unexpected artwork donation, featuring Don Getty, former Edmonton Elks quarterback and Alberta’s 11th Premier, sparked the beginning of something extraordinary: the creation of the Alberta Foundation of the Arts (AFA) Art Collection.

Since then, the Collection has grown to include over 9,600 works across a wide range of media. Each work offers a unique lens into the artist’s world and, collectively, forms a compelling mosaic of Alberta’s artistic identity.

New artworks are acquired by the AFA through three programs: Art Donation, Curatorial Purchase, and Art Acquisitions by Application - a juried program open to emerging and established artists. This exhibition features a decade of acquisitions, with many works on display for the first time.

Step inside, enjoy and explore. This house is full of imagination, and every corner holds something new just waiting to be discovered!
