ASA Call for Submissions: New Juried Members 2026

The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to invite artists (over 18, residing in Alberta) who are interested in joining our society to apply for juried membership for 2026. Our juried members provide professional recognition to the province’s artist community, and are awarded numerous privileges for their membership. This call is open to artists working in all visual media (including but not limited to: painting, photography, drawing, videography, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, digital media and installation).

Indigenous World Dance 3.0 2026 - Indigenous Arts Dance Residency

Overview  

Indigenous World Dance Residency is a re-designed program for twelve Indigenous dancers. Participants will engage in collective workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and opportunities to connect with community, guided by faculty and guest artists who support both individual growth and shared artistic exploration.

Call for Artists: Join the Deep Freeze Lamppost Cozy Challenge

Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival invites artists to take part in the Lamppost Cozy Challenge, a fast-paced, joy-filled competition that transforms 118 Avenue into a glowing outdoor gallery. Working within the festival’s 2026 theme, Under the Stars, selected teams will have 24 hours to “Deck Out a Lamppost” with an imaginative, site-specific installation enjoyed by more than 50,000 festival-goers.

Unleash WIP Award

The Unleash WIP Award offers writers support in the amount of $500 to supplement costs to support the completion of a book-length work of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. Writers will receive editorial feedback, coaching meetings, and an excerpt/interview feature in Unleash Lit. ASA Call for Submissions: “Artist-in-Residence Creative 2026” The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to invite artists (over 18) who are interested in self-directed research and site-specific work to apply to our Artist-in-Residence Creative Program. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal to encompass an 8-week consecutive period. The Alberta Society of Artists is a large part of Alberta’s visual arts history, through its members, its exhibitions, and other initiatives.
