Banff Centre’s Late Spring Writers Residency provides participants with the time and space for creative exploration away from the constraints of everyday life. Writers will be able to delve deep into their creative project, meet with a community of artistic peers, and take advantage of workshops and mentorship opportunities with faculty Jessica Westhead, Philip Terry, Sawako Nakayasu, and professional guest Anna Moschovakis (Ugly Duckling Presse). 

We are an award winning, all female a cappella barbershop chorus and a member of Sweet Adelines International. We are looking for an individual with the passion and ability to direct and lead our 40 member Chorus into our next chapter! Are you our next director? Reach out for more information!

Overview  

This program offers skill building and practical experience for singers, stage managers, répétiteurs, stage directors, composers, and conductors. Participants will workshop new operas at various stages of development, collaborating directly with composers, librettists, and directors in a dynamic creative process.

MacEwan University is seeking a Gallery Technician for a casual opportunity with the Mitchell Art Gallery. 

The CAAF Studio Residency is offered by the Calgary Allied Art Foundation (CAAF). CAAF’s aim is to support emerging artists to reach their full potential. By providing space and funding, the CAAF Studio Residency enables emerging artists to further explore their creative practice and take advantage of future exhibition opportunities that CAAF can provide. Artists are also encouraged to share their process and engage with the community during their residencies.

What you will do: 

• Develop lesson plans that are skill level appropriate over 8-10 week sessions, as well as one-class workshops on specific creative writing themes. 
• Prepare the classroom setting and supplies for each weekly class
• Instruct on all technical aspects and some history of creative writing
• Create a positive learning environment and coach participants to develop successful writing projects
