Emerging Artists Unleashed

The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to present our annual exhibition “Emerging Artists Unleashed: 2025” featuring the work of Alberta undergraduate students: Avery Neumiller (Undergraduate Scholarship recipient), Thea Galang (Undergraduate Scholarship recipient), Kayla Heinen, Aleanna Mau, Kacey Reichert, Karly Zouppas, and Kay Peters. This exhibition celebrates the diversity of undergraduate students enrolled in a Fine arts program at a secondary institution within Alberta. The exhibition runs March 12, 2025 – April 26, 2025, at the ASA Art Gallery, #222, 1235 – 26 Ave.

Spectre of Comparison

The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to present the solo exhibition “Spectre of Comparison” featuring the work of Alberta artist Kuhlien Migue. The exhibition runs March 12, 2025 – April 26, 2025, at the ASA Art Gallery, #222, 1235 – 26 Ave. SE, Calgary, Alberta. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and parking is free. There will be an opening reception and artist talk Saturday, March 15, 1-4 pm. "The successive colonial and imperial regimes of Spain, the United States, and Japan in the Philippines produced postage stamps brimming with propaganda.

'Boom Baby' - A Play By: Natalie Meisner

Award-winning play Boom Baby features Iona, a Nova Scotian who ventures west to work in the oilpatch. Her fragile independence is upended when she unexpectedly finds herself pregnant. She is unsettled by the pregnancy and feels all her options involve serious complications, including offering the child for adoption to an infertile couple who work in management. Can you buy a baby? The intersection of different class cultures in the energy industry meet in this potent, funny and thought-provoking play. Get your tickets.

Attend The WGA 2025 Conference: Genre and Form Through Time

The Writers’ Guild of Alberta Annual 2025 Spring Conference will explore major influences on genre and form through time. We will look at how writers continue to be inspired and influenced by those before them, and how we shape the landscape for those who come after us. Workshops, masterclasses, and panels will also delve into the business of writing and how to strengthen craft skills. 

Work in Progress 2025 Award: Submissions Open!

Unleash Press

Deadline to submit: July 15, 2025

The Unleash WIP Award offers writers support in the amount of $500 to supplement costs to support the completion of a book-length work of fiction, nonfiction or poetry. Writers will receive editorial feedback, coaching meetings, and an excerpt/interview feature in Unleash Lit.
