A Cappella Ensemble and Guitar Band Concert

This season’s line-up features the pairing of the Guitar Band with the highly regarded A Cappella Ensemble. The ensemble features five treble voices, who will present unique vocal harmonies and arrangements.

Fans of the guitar will have a lot to savour when the group of four guitarists and rhythm section takes the stage. A diverse repertoire of jazz, funk, blues, and ragtime arrangements will showcase the skills of these talented MacEwan students.

Audience members are invited to join us for light refreshments after the performance.

Short description
The concert features a pairing of the Guitar Band, lead by instructor Mo Lefever, with the
highly regarded A Cappella Ensemble, lead by instructor Katie Perman. The ensemble
features five treble voices, who will present unique vocal harmonies and arrangements. Fans
of the guitar will have a lot to savour when the group of four guitarists and a rhythm section
takes the stage. A diverse repertoire of jazz, funk, blues, and ragtime arrangements will
showcase the skills of these talented MacEwan students. Following the concert, audience
members are invited to join the students and faculty for appetizers and refreshments.
Behind the scenes, the concert is supported by students in MacEwan’s Arts and Cultural
Management program through a hands-on applied project management course led by
instructor Olivia Street. Working in small teams, students have collaborated with faculty and
staff to publicize and promote the concert as part of the Music Department’s 2025-26 season.
