Summer Job Opportunity: Gallery Assistant (Calgary)

Alberta Craft Gallery Assistant - Calgary
Position Length: 9 weeks, starting June 3, 2026 and ending on or after August 5, 2026
Hours: 30 hours per week, Wednesday – Saturday
Compensation: $18/hour

The Gallery Assistant will work with the dedicated Alberta Craft Council team to develop their skills in arts administration, customer service, and as a gallery preparator, assisting in both the retail and exhibition galleries.
The employee will primarily assist in the Alberta Craft Council retail gallery, which displays the work of over 175 Alberta emerging and established Craft artists. As part of this role the employee will learn about various Craft mediums, processes and contemporary Craft artists. They will provide customer support in the gallery, process sales of artists work, and learn proper object care, handling and packaging.
