We are delighted to invite to join  the “World Congress on Plant Science, Biotechnology & Sustainability”, scheduled to take place from May 28-29, 2026, in Rome, Italy. Focused on the theme “Innovating for a Greener Future: Research, Technology & Sustainable Solutions for Planetary Health,” this international congress will bring together experts, researchers, and emerging leaders committed to advancing sustainable innovations in plant sciences and global environmental stewardship.

Call to Artists!

Viewpoint Gallery offers local artists and curators of  all backgrounds the chance to exhibit original work. Run by City of Red Deer and located at 5205 48 Avenue in downtown Red Deer, it features 875 sq. ft.  of exhibit space and 80 linear feet for hanging, with solo and group shows running 2–3 months. Proposals are adjudicated by community and City art experts. The gallery offers visitors opportunities to engage with artists and their work through monthly First Friday receptions and Artist Talks.

Shumka: Back to Our Roots

Shumka: Back to Our Roots  is a vibrant, high-energy performance that celebrates Ukrainian dance by returning to what matters most: movement, music, and regional tradition. Drawing from Shumka’s rich performance history, the program features dances from across Ukraine that reveal how geography, history, and community shape rhythm, style, and physical expression, from grounded village steps to virtuosic ensemble work.

 

Nostalgia

The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to present the group exhibition “Nostalgia - Chasing Yesterday” featuring the work of artists across Alberta. The exhibition runs October 1st - 31st at the Western GM Gallery (In the Drumheller Public Library), 80 Veterans Way Drumheller, AB. Gallery hours are: Monday 9am - 5pm, Tuesday through Thursday 9am - 8pm, Friday and Saturday 9am - 5pm. ‘Nostalgia is a sentimental longing for the past—its people, places, events, and possibilities. What triggers this yearning?

Opera Al Fresco

Music, nature, and summer skies — Opera al Fresco returns to open our season with an enchanting outdoor concert at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden on August 27.
