The Alberta Foundation for the Arts is a public agency and a provincial corporation of the Government of Alberta with a mandate to support and contribute to the development of the arts in Alberta. We provide grant funding to artists and art organizations to encourage the growth and development of the arts sector. We also promote the arts and manage an extensive provincial art collection featuring work from artists all over the province.
The AFA respectfully acknowledges that it supports artistic activity on Treaty 6, 7 and 8 territories: traditional lands of First Nations and Métis peoples.
The arts hold tremendous power to create positive change. The AFA believes in the full and equal participation of all Albertans, and intends to apply this belief to its policies and programs in two distinct ways:
This program is designed to foster and contribute to the growth and development of the arts in Alberta by accepting cash donations from donors that wish to support AFA programs and services.
The AFA Annual Report provides information on our yearly operations. Information includes annual accomplishments, a summary of grants awarded, financial statements and the AFA Board’s membership and responsibilities.
In return for funding support, we ask that all grant recipients acknowledge and include the AFA logo in their recognition/marketing materials. Funding accreditation is requirement for all recipients.
