So, you’ve finished your film — now what?

Join us for an essential professional development session designed for filmmakers, media artists, and storytellers ready to take the next step in their careers. This ART/Work Session will explore the process of submitting your work to film festivals with intention, clarity, and confidence.

This session will cover the practical and strategic aspects of submissions: choosing the right festivals, tailoring your applications, avoiding common pitfalls, and understanding what programmers are really looking for. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your approach, this conversation offers valuable insights into how to get your work seen — and remembered.

Brenda Lieberman is the Co-Founder and Festival Director of the Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) and Lead Programmer for the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF). With over 20 years in the industry, Brenda has programmed thousands of independent films and is widely recognized for championing bold, unconventional voices in cinema. Her deep understanding of both programming and artist support makes her an invaluable guide to the festival circuit.

No need to leave the house, this ART/Work Session is exclusively online.
