Challenge Details:
- Theme: Hearts a Melting
- Location: 118 Avenue, Kaleido Festival Site
- Installation Start: Saturday, September 14 at 11:00 am
- Installation End: Sunday, September 15 at 11:00 am
- Dismantling: Sunday, September 15 after the festival closes at 6:00 pm
Spin us a yarn and deck out a lamppost with engaging, whimsical, and vibrant imaginary characters to delight festival visitors of all ages!
Test your imagination and street art installation skills for a chance to win cash prizes.
Creative teams will:
- Consist of up to 3 artists/designers/builders.
- Be selected by our jury to design, create, and install their art on up to six (6) pre-assigned lampposts.
- Submit a simple, clear proposal & project description with rough sketches.
- Create some components in advance, while others must be completed on-site within the 24-hour period.
- Use materials that do not pose any danger to artists or audiences.
- Commit to spending a minimum of 2 hours working on-site (weather permitting), so festival-goers can see you at work.
Important Notes:
- If a lamppost site is damaged, the artist team will be billed.
- Installations must be dismantled by the artist(s) on the evening of September 15.
Prizes:
- First Place: $300
- Second Place: $200
- People’s Choice: $100
