Synopsis: Intergenerational trauma plays a complicating role in newly widowed Roman’s (Troy Ruptash) life. The recurring nightmares of the selfless last acts of his uncle, a member of the Ukrainian Resistance (UPA) heightens the grief that overwhelms him.
Filmed entirely in Vegreville, THEY WHO SURROUND US took home the Audience Choice Award for Best Dramatic Feature at the 2020 Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF). Film is rated PG. TRAILER.
