Fish scale art is a traditional land-based arts practice that involves processing and cleaning the scales of whitefish. Scales are then dyed an array of colours and dried. Under Belcourt Moses’ guidance, create your own fish scale artwork in a 2-hour workshop, suitable for ages 8 years and up and enjoyable for all ages.

This meditative program involves delicate placement of the scales onto felt using glue to create a floral composition. Learn about the history and practice of Métis fish scale art and its importance in Indigenous contemporary art.

Note: Children under 12 years should bring an adult with them to assist them with their project (one registration required per project).
