Calgary Sculptor Vahe Tokmajyan Presents Upside Down Logic in France
DATE :
Upside Down Logic is Vahe Tokmajyan’s artistic response to the world we are living in now. Created for the symposium theme The Upside-Down World, the sculpture shows a human figure carrying a donkey — a sharp and recognizable reversal of what we expect.
For Vahe, this image reflects the burden ordinary people carry in today’s world: the consequences of political decisions, unrest, and social imbalance. We elect leaders, but often it is the public who carries the weight of their choices.
At first, the sculpture brought smiles from viewers because the image is unexpected and almost humorous. But then it opened a door to deeper interpretation. Each person seemed to find their own hidden meaning in it — about burden, foolishness, power, responsibility, or the absurd logic of modern life.
