The Nubia Design & Innovation Project is launching a national and global research initiative,
examining the structural, educational, and ecosystem-level factors that limit IBPOC access to
design‐thinking tools, human‐centred design education, and innovation pathways — especially
in technology, civic innovation, and social impact sectors.

Kaleido Family Arts Festival is a joyous, exuberant, radically open arts festival that shares the love of the Alberta Avenue Arts District.

Celebrate the arts and discover music, theatre, dance, street performances, food, artisans, art galleries, markets, and more in alleys, rooftops, parks and on Alberta Avenue. 

Kaleido Family Arts Festival returns to the Ave on September 18-20, 2026!

Discover your perfect volunteer role! Gather with us for the Kaleido Volunteer Info Brunch. If you want to get involved in your community this festival season, this info session is the perfect place to start. Held at the Spruce Avenue Community League, this catered brunch will give you a clear breakdown of volunteer responsibilities, a chance to connect with crew leads, and first access to shift sign-ups.

Register to save your seat and have your $ 5 deposit returned upon arrival.

Contemporary Calgary is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Charitable Casino Fundraiser at Cowboys Casino on October 20th and 21st. We are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to help make this important fundraising event a success!

Charitable casinos are one of Contemporary Calgary’s most significant fundraising opportunities. The funds raised directly support our exhibitions, educational programming, community events, workshops and other initiatives that connect our community with contemporary art.

Kaleido is a delightfully vibrant, distinctly dynamic, radically open celebration of the arts, in all shapes and forms, transforming 118th Avenue between 90th and 95th Streets. This year's theme is Hearts Full of Gusto! Celebrate 21 years of artistic expression in an accessible environment built out of love in the heart of the Alberta Avenue Arts District.

Celebrate The Carrot’s 19th Birthday with Chalk-It-Up! on July 18th. The festivities kick off at 9 AM with a delicious free pancake breakfast, live music, and talented chalk artists turning the Ave into a colorful masterpiece.

Mark your calendars! The Whyte Avenue Art Walk is returning to the streets and parks in the heart of Old Strathcona July 10-12, 2026. With more than 470 visual artists participating, patrons will find an original piece of visual art to suit any budget and taste. Wear comfortable shoes – this is a BIG, beautiful extravaganza that celebrates the creativity and talent of artists at every stage of their careers.  Art Walk provides an opportunity to meet artists, learn more about processes and materials, and take home a personal story.
