Call for Alberta Day performer applications

Alberta’s government declared September 1 as Alberta Day, an opportunity to honour and tell Alberta’s story year after year. To celebrate Alberta Day, Alberta’s government hosts free events with performances, music, food, vendors and more in both Edmonton and Calgary. 

This year, events will be held on August 31, 2025, at Edmonton’s legislature grounds and Calgary’s Fort Edmonton Park. The events bring together thousands of Albertans to celebrate the provinces diverse culture, history, music and arts. Alberta’s government is seeking performers from all genres to perform at the event. 

Applicants must be able to provide:

  • contact information 
  • rates for 20 min, 30 min, 45 min, and 1 hour long performances
  • any special staging or technical requirements
  • artist/ensemble biography, including genres performed
  • a list of recent performances or performance highlights
  • links to 2 or more music or video selections such as commercial recordings or public performances
  • website and social media accounts
  • musical acts are also asked to include rates for solo, duo, full band or other options

Artists under the age of 18 may apply but require a parent or legal guardian to sign the application, receive the funding and serve as contact person.

All submissions MUST be received no later than March 24, 2025, at 4:30 pm MST. Successful applicants will be notified in the spring of 2025.
