The AFA collection is held as a public trust and cultural asset that is developed, shared and cared for on behalf of all Albertans.
Development policy
Strategic development of the AFA Art Collection considers the following priorities:
- investing in a collection that reflects the excellence of Alberta artists
- safeguarding the AFA's collection by prioritizing sustainability
- supporting and encouraging programming that makes the AFA's collection accessible
Reproduction requests
In general, the AFA will allow access and use of images of artwork from our collection for educational purposes. However, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts acts in accordance with Canadian Copyright Law and images required for commercial purposes may be subject to royalties and fees paid to the copyright holder.
