Museum Skills Workshops: Ice Age Crash Course
How do you know the difference between a Mastodon and a Mammoth tooth? How about a Bison’s foot from a Horse’s? These skills and many more are key for Paleontologists as they piece together Alberta’s frozen past.
In this workshop, the Royal Alberta Museum's Quaternary Paleontology Team will teach you basic comparative anatomy of Ice Age fossils, and how you can examine a skeleton to identify an animal group or species.
Drop-in Sketching: Remembrance
Have you ever wished you could use the Royal Alberta Museum’s collections for sketching inspiration? Now’s your chance! We'll be showcasing rarely seen museum objects to create a still-life setup for you to practice your drawing skills.
This month, in honour of Veterans’ Week, we will be displaying objects with a theme of remembrance. There will be a range of objects: a peace dove, military uniforms, badges, medals, gas masks, poppies, trench art, and more.
