The Newcomer Arts Professional Program (NAPP) is a dedicated professional development initiative tailored to empower and support newcomer professional artists, arts administrators, and cultural workers. NAPP is a pivotal platform, fostering connections, resource access, educational enrichment, and professional establishment within the Canadian arts landscape. 

This opportunity is for newcomer arts professionals in both Edmonton and Calgary only.

Artstrek is a summer theatre school for teens that provides professional learning with theatre artists and educators in a collaborative environment. Artstrek is more than 65 years old and has 10,000+ alumni working across Alberta, Canada, and the world.

Arts Council Wood Buffalo, in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), invites artists and creative entrepreneurs to a two-part interactive webinar focused on the financial and tax side of running a creative practice.

Part of ACWB’s Business of the Arts program, this series offers practical, easy-to-understand guidance tailored to artists. You will gain tools and insights to manage your finances with more confidence and less stress. Whether you are just starting out or looking to improve your current systems, this webinar is designed to support your creative work.

Looking for a supportive space to create art? Mingle with like-minded artists for a sketching session where you can work on projects, discuss new ideas, and unleash your creativity. Don’t forget to bring your own supplies and get ready to dive into the world of art with us!

Edmonton Poetry Festival returns this April for National Poetry Month with bold new collaborations and city-wide activations. For its 21st year, the festival will transform Edmonton into a vibrant hub of language, music, and community. From LRT stations to art galleries, performance stages to unexpected public spaces, the month-long festival invites audiences to experience poetry in new ways.

Discover the beauty of florals in this Watercolour Flower Workshop instructed by Patricia Farrar. In this hands-on session, Patricia will guide participants through the expressive process of painting flowers in watercolour. Learn how to create soft washes, layer colour with intention, and capture the natural movement and detail of petals and leaves using approachable techniques.

Perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their skills, this workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring space to explore creativity and leave with out blooming watercolour piece.
