Alberta Day Call for Performers in Edmonton and Calgary

Alberta’s government declared September 1 as Alberta Day, an opportunity to honour and tell Alberta’s story year after year. To celebrate Alberta Day, Alberta’s government hosts free events in multiple cities with live performances, kids' zones, food, marketplace vendors, drone shows, and more.
This year, the provincially coordinated Alberta Day events will be held in Edmonton and Calgary on Sunday, August 30, 2026. These events bring together thousands of Albertans to celebrate the province's diverse culture, history, music and arts. Alberta’s government is currently running a province-wide call for performers from all genres to perform at Alberta Day events.
Applicants must be able to provide:
• contact information – including home city
• rates for 20 min, 30 min, 45 min, and 60 min long performances
• any special staging or technical requirements
• genres performed
• artist/ensemble biography
• a list of recent performances or performance highlights
• links to 2 or more music or video selections such as commercial recordings or public performances
• links to website and social media accounts
• musical acts are also asked to include rates for solo, duo, full band or other options
Artists under the age of 18 may apply but require a parent or legal guardian to sign the application, receive the funding and serve as contact person.
All submissions MUST be received no later than March 30, 2026, at 4:30 pm MST. Successful applicants will be notified in the late spring.
