General Auditions (Citadel Theatre)

The Citadel Theatre will be holding General Auditions for future casting opportunities across upcoming seasons. Artistic Director Daryl Cloran and Associate Artistic Director Mieko Ouchi will be in attendance.

AUDITION DATES:
In-Person General Auditions will be held September 21, 22, and 24, 2026 in Edmonton, at the Citadel Theatre. Please note: no zooms or self-tapes will be accepted.
September 24 will be Citadel’s Unvetted General Auditions for both CAEA and Non-Union actors.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE FOR GENERAL AUDITIONS
- All submissions should include ONE PDF FILE including both your Headshot & Resume.
- Submissions should be emailed to auditions@citadeltheatre.com.
- Please write “General Audition” in the subject line.
- The submission deadline is Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 5:00 pm MST.
Please note: only successful submissions will be contacted with an audition time slot by no later than 5:00 pm MDT on Friday, September 11, 2026.
WHO CAN APPLY?
For Citadel’s September 21 & 22 General Auditions, all CAEA members / Professional actors who have not auditioned for Daryl or Mieko in the past two years and who reside in Alberta are invited to submit their headshots and resumes for general audition consideration.
Please note – applicants must be adults (18+ years old). Please do not submit for a general audition if you are currently attending school (high school, college or university).
WHAT IF I DON’T RECEIVE AN AUDITION FOR SEPTEMBER 21 or 22?
On September 24, Citadel will be holding UNVETTED GENERAL AUDITIONS. These audition spots are on a first come, first serve sign-up basis.
Please note, for these audition spots, we cannot accommodate any time changes. Once your time is confirmed, artists will need to attend at the assigned time or will need to cancel. Thank you for your understanding.
From September 14 – 16 (5:00 pm MDT), all CAEA members who did not receive a date/time for September 21 or 22 and wish to resubmit can self-sign-up for a first-come-first serve spot. Signups will open on September 14th at 10:00 am MDT: https://citadeltheatre.com/auditions/general-auditions/

From September 17 – 19 (5:00 pm MDT), all non-CAEA members can sign up if there are any auditions spots remaining. Signups will open on September 16th at 10:00 am MDT: https://citadeltheatre.com/auditions/general-auditions/

If all audition spots are filled, a waitlist will be created to gather names. Artists will be contacted if slots become available based on their placement on the waitlist. Thank you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Auditions will be approximately 10 minutes.
Please prepare the following:
Two contrasting monologues (less than 2 minutes each) OR one monologue and a song (each less than 2 minutes).
Please note, there will be an accompanist present the morning of one day and the afternoon of the other day, dates to be confirmed.
Please note that our 2026/2027 season is already cast. The 2027/2028 season will be announced in early 2027.
