Summer Production Coordinator, Digital Media and Film Temporary 

• 30 hours/week • Start date: Mid-May – August 28, 2026

What You Will Do 

The Production Coordinator, Digital Media and Film role will support Senior Faculty Lead, Digital Media and Film, working on various film and video projects. The Production Coordinator will aslo work cloesly with NaAC artists, helping them bring their artistic ideas to life. Ideal role for a film/media student who is interested in developing a career in the screen industry. 

The Production Coordinator will also work closely with Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations to develop and maintain a content library of reusable assets and evergreen content including 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with NaAC film shoots – organizing/booking gear, ensuring batteries and SD cards, communicating/scheduling with participants, assisting as needed. 

• Capture footage and edit for NaAC social media and promotional reels 

• Support post-production process on various media types 

• Ensure that artists are equipped with the necessary tools and supplies specific to their creative goals 

• Assist and provide inspirational resources to artists developing ideas and respect their autonomy over their creative desires. 

• Identify possible areas for artist skills training; facilitate skills training for artists as required 

• Proper set-up, tear down and clean-up of tools, supplies, chairs/tables at the end of each session 

• Diligent and careful storage of finished artworks and works in progress 

• Uphold and adhere to all direct service policies and procedures and studio processes and protocols. 

• Work closely with Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations to develop and maintain a content library of reusable assets and evergreen content including: 

- Behind-the-scenes footage that highlights programs, people and process.

- Collaborations with staff, artists and volunteers to tell meaningful stories that reflect the organization’s mission and impact 

Experience and Skills You’ll Bring 

• Possess and understanding of filmmaking, knowledge of what is needed during film production 

• Technical filmmaking skills, especially in areas of sound, cinematography, or editing software (Avid and/or Premiere Pro) 

• Adaptable and skilled in problem-solving, working quickly and finding inventive solutions 

• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively to different audience. Comfortable sending emails, talking to many people. 

Additional Skills + Abilities Considered Asset 

• Experience working with individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. 

• American Sign Language (ASL) 

• Experience working for non-profit/charity organization.

Compensation & Working Hours 

• $19.50/hour (+4% vacation pay) 

• Monday–Friday; 9am–3:30pm

• On site parking

Eligibility 

This is a position under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) grant. As per CSJ regulations, all candidates must be 18-30 years old at the start of employment; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations of the province of Alberta. Please note that international students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
