Meet Samantha Williams-Chapelsky: Alberta's 2024-25 Artist in Residence/Arts Ambassador and an international art instructor and abstract landscape painter.
During her residency, Samantha challenged herself and embarked on an incredible creative journey, producing an unbelievable 108 plein air (open air) paintings. Her unique textured style captured the essence of more than 40 distinct locations across the province.
From picturesque landscapes to folk music, Samantha steps into the AFA Artist Spotlight and gives us a deeper look into who inspires her work, what she looks for when she’s painting on location, and what keeps her creativity focused and leveled.
