Answering a Global Crisis: From Temporary Foreign Worker to Cultural Infrastructure Builder in Alberta
When Archives Are Incomplete, History Becomes Incomplete
International cultural policy bodies, including UNESCO, have warned that gaps in digital preservation systems pose long-term risks to cultural diversity. When archival infrastructure is uneven, entire communities remain under-documented. Over time, these omissions become structural absences within the historical record.
In Calgary, Alberta, Filipino-Canadian cultural practitioner Rolando Jr. Montemayor Pepano is developing a response grounded in infrastructure rather than exhibition.

Baker Miller Pink presents "I'm Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire" by Samantha Hurley
It’s 2004. Beanie babies are flying off the shelves, Shrek 2 is a box office hit, and Britney Spears is not a girl, not yet a woman. 14-year-old Shelby Hinkley has kidnapped Tobey Maguire, at the height of his career, to force him into marrying her. Join Baker Miller Pink for a parasocially unhinged Y2K comedy, complete with the upside-down kiss you didn't know you needed this Valentine's Day.
February 12-15th 2026 at The Studio at Vertigo Theatre

Send in The Clowns Presented by the Instrumental Society of Calgary
What could you expect when music creation was inspired by a clown? Icarus 3 is an improvising trio composed of Jeremy Gignoux (violin/viola), Keith Rodger (double bass), and Robin Tufts (drums, percussion). They created their original repertoire in an unusual and experimental way: with the help of the clown. Under guidance from clown performer and educator Jacqueline Russell, they explored their inner clowns, which gave birth to musical compositions and improvisation games that display a joyful and wild creative energy.
