EDMONTON ARTIST KAELEY JADE EARNS 3 NOMINATIONS IN THE 2027 CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS
EDMONTON, AB — Edmonton-based Métis alternative-folk singer/songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Kaeley Jade has received three nominations in the Best Music Video category at the 2027 Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMAs), with three videos from her sophomore album, The Great Unknown, recognized by the national awards.
Dale Bailey is nominated for The Ceiling (Official Music Video), Emily Anne Corcoran for Wisest Fool (Official Music Video), and Kaeley Jade Wiebe for Never Come Home Again (Official Music Video). Together, the three nominations represent three of the five nominees in the category. The Ceiling (Official Music Video) is also currently nominated for Best Music Video at the 2026 Alberta Film and Television Awards.
Released in April 2026 with the support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Edmonton Arts Council, The Great Unknown explores the turbulence of change, the challenges of personal growth, and the catharsis of letting go of what no longer serves us. Produced by JUNO Award-winner Hill Kourkoutis, The Great Unknown invites listeners to release what no longer serves them, embrace the unpredictability of life, and celebrate the beauty found within the ever-shifting tides of experience. The Great Unknown received critical acclaim from outlets such as Roots Music Canada and Cups N Cakes, charted across Canadian radio (#5 on CBC, #3 on CKUA, and two #1s on the Indigenous Music Countdown), and was shared live at over 40 Canadian tour dates in 2026.
This latest recognition follows Kaeley Jade’s 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award win for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year for her debut album, Turpentine.
The 2027 Canadian Folk Music Awards will take place April 8–11, 2027, in Sydney, Cape Breton Island. A complete list of nominees is available at folkawards.ca. For more information, including how to watch the videos, visit https://kaeleyjade.com/.
